I thought I would throw out a little teaser video for what will hopefully be an upcoming mountain run/gathering.  I was cleaning out files from the Corvette site last night and ran across an in-car video taken on Piper Gap.  Here is a brief synopsis of Pipers Gap, a link to the video and a few links to interesting sites along the Blue Ridge http://triadcorvetteclub.com/Video/PipersGap.html  or   if you just want to view the video, you can do so here or right click and download it.. either way... http://www.triadcorvetteclub.com/video/pipersgap.wmv

**Please don't scrutinize the video to harshly.  It was a new camera set up I was trying out.  The sound track was from the MP3 player in the car so you can hear a lot of wind noise over the music.   Grin

Looks like a fun drive!  I have been looking into getting a camera as well.  I wish I had had one at VIR the other day.

The set up came from Hoyt Tech.  I use the kit with the suction cup camera mount http://www.hoyttech.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=291  The also make kits for roll cage mount and helmet mount.  Mounting to the windshield or roll cage is the best way to go.  A helmet mounted cam can give you a somewhat better range of shots, but it's shakey.  I hook up Hoyt Tech camera to my Sony digital video camera and record to a flash card.  That make for a simple transfer to PC.

There are several guys over on corvettekillstories.com that use this same set up.  One of them even has his camera mounted on top of the car via hole drilled through the acrylic top.  I'm not that serious about getting good video.  Grin
