Let's make The Gathering (http://www.triumphclub.org) our April outing.  I'm looking for some suggestions for a breakfast get-together and a volunteer to lead a caravan up there...any takers?

heh heh - We are a couple steps ahead of you Smiley There's a thread in the Lotus section going. I'm waiting on confirmation now that we got enough cars registered to create a seperate Lotus class. The current plan is to convoy up and meet up with the Winston-Salem gang prior to going in to the show.

I hear ya. It probably makes sense to keep the events section seperate as some of the LNBCC guys may not think to look under the Lotus section. You and I can co-ordinate getting our collective s**t together Smiley

I don't think I will be traveling up I-77.  52 is a lot faster, so I will just have to meet you guys on site.

You will be coming right by those of us in G'boro and W-S.  We're heading up 421 to I-77.  Hwy 52 to 601 to Dobson is a whole lot of slow travel, small towns and stop lights.

I have traveled up 52 to 77 quite a bit to go skiing in WV the last few years.  52 is mostly 4 lane and isn't too bad.  That route is 29 miles shorter, so the speed limit on 421 would have to be about 120mph to make up that difference!  As for the traffic, I don't anticipate too much at 7AM when I'll be on that road...

My Lotus Esprit S1 should be ready by then.  I'de like to join up or meet you all for this event.  I'm only 65 miles up Hwy 74 from W'ton.  John

Here's the updated list of attendees:

1.  talon
2.  xeeeej
3.  BobsElise
4.  avanmeter
5.  alilbrit
6.  Burple
7.  myrElise?
8.  jdbrn

I figure it's roughly an hour and a half drive from Charlotte, although I highly doubt it will take that long. Registration is from 8-12. I propose meeting at the Cashions gas station on your right as you get off I77 northbound at exit 28. What time works for everybody? How about  7:30? That would put us meeting up with the Winston Salem crew between 8:30 and 9... Too early?

Winston Salem crew - think you can drag your a$$es to the meeting point around then?

Is anyone actually entering the car show?

I would, but I'm afraid to make everyone else look bad.   Grin

Technically, I think we are entered in the show just by registering.  I don't plan on cleaning the car too much more it though Smiley  We did get our own judging class though. What the hell, somebody will get a trophy or something Smiley

I am entering.

I'm sure you would probably win since Chrome Orange is a crowd pleaser!

You Charlotte wussies just name the time... we'll be there!  It looks like it's about an hour from K'vegas to the meeting spot.  I think some of us will meet for breakfast once you establish a meeting time so we can do a little planning.
