I have a Bel 980 which I'm convinced can't pick up laser anymore.  I bought a new Bel 995 (great deal on eBay) which is no V1, but ranks above other competitors per radartest.com.  Anyway, I bought the new one because the old one wouldn't even go off when I shined a laser pointer at it, but the new one won't either.  Has anybody ever shined a laser pointer at their detector?  Are laser pointers simply too weak to set off a detector?

Either way the new one is awesome so I'll keep it.  LMK if anybody wants a good deal on a 980.

Turns out LIDAR uses infrared lasers so of course a laser pointer wouldn't work.  Anybody want a good deal on a perfectly functional Bel 980?

I can see the traffic pile up now if your laser pointer was used in the laser gun  laughing4
