How about Sunday August 16?  We'll meet at the Pilot Mountain rest area off Highway 52, then head north to the BRP.  This seems like the best compromise to get to the mountains for both the CLT and RDU folks.  As usual, Gary will navigate.  Steve will keep four wheels but no bumpers on the road, Russ will have a functional suspension, and I'll bring a barf bag for Mel.

Seems like quite a few of us have work/school obligations on Saturday so we thought Sunday would be a good idea.

Sounds fun!  Now I'll just have to decide whether I want to bring the M3 or ride with Bob...

Sadly, change of plans.  We're spending that weekend in Asheville, scenic driving, Land Rover driving experience, visiting the Biltmore, and wine tasting for Bob's birthday present!

Chuck, if you're up for it, I'd love to swap rides for a few miles.  I want to feel what that WC turbo can do.  The only people I'd ever trust to drive my Esprit are other Esprit drivers.  If I let Gary drive it, I'd be afraid my transmission would suffer dearly Smiley

Well, here's an example.

I was followed down an off-ramp on I-20 west of Lexington by car full of teenage boys.  They followed me (a little too closely) down a country road on my way home.  I decided to, um, unleash the full fury of the second cam through the stage 2 exhaust and made them "magically disappear" until the next intersection.  :devilish

They pulled along side me at the light and were effusively praising the car and the sound of the engine at red line.  Cheesy

Very Nice! Glad it went to a good owner.

We could probably work something out. I dont know how much you will be able to tell from just the turbo though since I have a different chip too. Hopefully the weather is good since blazing hot days dont really do any favors for the car and performance.

Looks like I'll have my new wheels in time for the drive. Just need to get a couple of coats of Rejex on them while they're easy to wax.
