Steve had a great idea of doing a small mountain run to get some good driving in while the weather is good (but who knows what will happen next week).  Hanging Rock has some great facilities for parking and grilling if the weather is warm enough.  I'll volunteer Gary to lead the drive if he's willing.  You can basically get good mountain roads at 1500 feet without the worry of snow and ice.  The date is totally flexible so if others want to change it, let me know.

Anybody in?

How about if we meet in Kernersville.  There is a McDonalds right off of Business 40 at the Hwy 150/Main Street exit.  I'll lead you up the back way to Hanging Rock.  Depending on the weather, we could pack a picnic lunch and eat at the Park or I know of a couple places in Danbury we can get a sandwich.  Meet at McDonalds around 10:30?  Depending on how far you want to go, we could head over to Pilot Mountain.  There are some great country roads between Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain.

Let's see who wants to go and I'll firm up a route.

That all sounds great to me.  Maybe we could do some light hiking and walk down to Lower Cascades from the Hall Road parking area or do Upper Cascades from the main area...heck, I'd be up for doing the actual Hanging Rock, but that's a pretty long trek.  I'm up for whatever.

Wh_t's t_at Da_e.... y_u wer_ br_ak_ng up?  laughing4

Oliver wants to try out his new Nitrons.  Can we drive to the cascades?  OK, if you want to hike, we can do a longer loop and end at Hanging Rock, have lunch, hike and head home from there.  I have a pretty good route in mind.

As a side note, I found another killer road in Virginia today.  If we all get together later in the month, maybe we can do it.

Just thought of something.  I'd like to be done and on my way home by 3:30.  NFL playoffs.  The first game could be the New Jersey Giants kicking the crap out of Philly/Minn. :devilish  Need time to pop the popcorn and put my Manning jersey on.

Good call on being done before the game - bad call on the Eliza Manning jersey.   violent5

Oh yeah.  I delay watching everything by at least 30 minutes.  That way, I can blitz through the commercials and "pause for the cause" when need be.   thumbsup

If you come up 52, I'll join the caravan.  You'll pass within about 2 miles of my house just before Winston-Salem.  On the return ride, mini-bike tours of my property are optional Smiley
