Can you believe this weather?  I had almost the entire week off last week and only got the car out once... and it rained on me then.  Today and tomorrow it is supposed to be beautiful and there is no way I can sneak off from work.  Squirrel Spur needs me!

It's insane.

When do you normally consider Squirrel Spur and the like to be a safe bet weather wise? I'm hunting for something to to do for January and/or February and would *really* like to get a drive in.

Actually, "most" of the NC/VA roads are good 11 months 23 days a year.  It's just hard to plan very far out Dec, Jan, Feb or Mar.  I would just plan a route and leave the date floating.

I'll give you a call this week and see if we can maybe pull something together for later this month.

Steve and I were thinking of making a Hanging Rock run...just something simple.  Maybe this weekend?  Next?  I got a new Garmin wrist watch for Christmas and I need some hiking waypoints.

That might work. Let's not plan on anything this weekend - how does next weekend sound?
