I don't plan on doing anything formal for December as scheduling around the holidays and weather is a real b*tch. Am open to suggestions for January.

If any of you are interested, one possibility is to go tour Bob and Hectors shops in Denver (if they'll have us). It's indoors, so weather is not a factor.

What else?

Or with the weather the way it is in January, do we just bag it as well?

An indoor event would probably be a good thing.  I have driven with the top off each January since I've had the Elise, but those days are far from guaranteed.

I wasn't ready to announce anything just yet but Supercar Sensation is planning a Grand Opening for sometime in Decmeber.  I am also trying to work around the CAFE event.  As soon as we determine a time and place I will let everyone know.  I am inviting car clubs, dealers, tuner shops, friends, etc...

Has the club ever done the "Tail of the Dragon"? Weather being acceptable, it looks like a great stretch of road.

I've done it several times on the motorcycles.  Unfortunately, Tennessee has decided to crack down on speeding on the dragon.  They have lots of accidents and several deaths each year on that 11 mile stretch of road.  There are many better roads out there without all of the heat on them.

Good to know. Tickets and death are highly unnacceptable. To scratch my Esprit.... oooooooooooohhh! I couldn't bear it. Barring any previous engagements, you can count me in on all ventures.

I'll work out a plan over the next couple weeks. I have a couple possibilities in mind.

Perhaps it's time Gary shows more people Squirrel Spur.  I'm up for it any time.  Imagine the Dragon with no other cars and no cops.   notworthy

Yeah, I have always felt like the winter is the best time to get some good driving in as long as there's no salt on the roads.  Plus the heat is much better than the A/C in my Elise Smiley

I'd like to get the group back up that way early next year. Maybe February?

I'll be glad to put together a "spur of the moment" route the first good weekend that comes along.  Virginia isn't that far, the roads are great and it's an easy drive to get there and back.  However it looks like we're in the "bad weather weekend" loop right now.  Stay tuned, we'll get a break soon..........  thumbsup

Tail of the Dragon is super fun but hard to do on the weekends because too many tourists and law enforcement officers are there.  You just have to make sure you stay on your side of the double yellow line (scary when people don't) and know your (and your car's) limits.  Ceasar's Head is another closer option with some twisties.  My only concern with winter driving is icy roads.  Is that a big problem?  I'm always interested in going for a drive!

Spur of the moment is fine here too. I'll make time.
