Well, I was afraid this would happen....

I called the track and they have birthday parties scheduled from 2:00pm to 7:00pm.  Since we didn't get the minimum 10 people signed up ahead of time I couldn't book the track.  If we show up at 2:30 or 3:00, there will likely be a wait of at least an hour to get us all in a kart.

So, we can scrap the track all together, try another track like Celebration Station (lame), switch to a country drive, or show at the track when they open at noon and have a good chance of getting it to ourselves, then eat later in the afternoon.

Last minute game-day call here.  Any thoughts?

Also, unconfirm the Viper guy.  Juan will be at the restaurant, but not the Karts.

Let's flip them and do the track first. Do you think Juan will be willing to pass the word on to any stagglers that we went to the track? I'll send out a message to everybody as well.

Another issue is that the Triad is almost out of gas.  Everybody is freaking out and buying all the gas left in the state.  A lot of stations here are over $5/gallon if they have any left.

It would seem like going for a country drive wouldn't be prudent, if we do any driving at all.  Bail/reschedule?

If anybody is still up for it, I'll plan on being at the Mexican restaurant at noon - we'll leave at 12:15 to make the 1:00pm racing session, then we can return to the restaurant after we race.  Everybody should plan to meet AT the TRACK.  I'll only be at the restaurant to catch stragglers.  Feel free to start the noon race session without me.

Just got the car hot wired. Probably the only exotic town that needs two paper clips to get it started Smiley

Heh.  I used to start my Mustang with a screwdriver.   Grin

Is there a caravan leaving from Charlotte? Where and when do you want to meet up to start?

I was thinking about driving up just to hang out....but....given the freak out that's ensued at the gas stations today and the fact that I have to go out of town Monday morning, I'll be hanging around the house to make the half tank I have get me going Monday.

Wish things were a bit different so I could have come out to meet you all.

We are planning on leaving around 10:15 or so. We'll be getting on 85 right where it crosses 77. If you want, we can meet you someplace off the Concord Mills exit.

Mirroredshades - man, I feel bad. We had a last minute flip in the schedule due to the track being booked. I sent out an email and updated this thread last night. I'll PM you my cell number for future use if we have another mix up. Again, I apologize. It was just one of those unavoidable things.
