Show info should be right on the main page.  This is usually a very nice show at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant.

I've been out of town and/or tied up on all the recent events  Cry

I really wanted to come this coming Sat to Eurofest, but will be in Chicago.

So I think I'm going down to Charleston for this - I need a nice weekend break anyway.

Anyone else here going?

Well I did go down to Charleston for this event and had a good time.

Driving down on Friday evening in the rain wasn't fun - even with the hard top and rain tires on!

I was the only Lotus, so got put in a "special interests roadster" class!
Very wired mix of cars: an 80's TVR Tasmin, a 40's Triumph, a 60's Damiler, a 70's(?) Jensen and me!!

I think I was the youngest person there and probably had the newest car and so was very suprised to take 2nd place!

...now I have a plague on my desk!!

BTW Johnny I think that everyone thought that I was you.  I kept getting told of all the times they had seen me around town - but it was the first time I'd taken the car to Charleston.

Hopefully people thinking you were me didn't lead to any embarassing confrontations with the local law enforcement!  There sure aren't many Lotus cars around Charleston.  I guess being 4 hours from the closest dealer encourages rarity.

I had planned on being there, but had my plans changed at the last minute by the weather and the wife.  Shame to miss an event 15 minutes from the house.

The boys in blue were fine - hopefully you'll be OK in the coming week  Wink   Did get a lot of general attention driving it around though.

I honestly don't know how you drive your car down town on a regular basis though - the roads are awful!  Granted I have a front splitter, making the front an inch lower, but it's rough.   sad5

I did have one insteresting/intimidating incident at a gas station though.  I went in to buy a soda and when I came out the car was swamped with kids (10 to 18 y/o)

Amongst other comments, one was: "how much did that cost?"
I replied: "a lot of A's at school!!"   thumbsup

That's the best answer to that question I've ever heard.  I've got a ForcedFed carbon fiber splitter on mine as well, but I've never had any problem scraping downtown.  Guess I just know where the bumps and holes are.  Middle King St. around the shopping district is terrible.  The biggest issue is street flooding around the Market and the Crosstown.  There was knee deep water all over the place Friday night.  One of the reasons I didn't venture out Saturday morning to the show.

Yeah it's actually lucky we had a hotel over in Mount Pleasant - I think we would have struggled to get into town on the Friday night.
