Over Active Alarm

Normally my car is tucked into the garage every night and not locked. But over the past couple of days I decided to take the Lotus out of town. The alarm went off all the time on its own.... one time every time I walked more than 100 yards away it would go off again. I finally had to leave it unlocked to stop it. Then when I was driving home I stopped at a Starbucks and the guy at the drive thru said hey pal your car is going off!!
Anyone have this issue?

I have had a problem with my alarm going off when the car got rained on once. I think you can adjust the sensitivity on the motion sensor somehow. I have always kind of lived with it though since I rarely park outside.

I think ours is the first year with the enhance alarm system and I suspect the snafu is all a part of the faulty programming that I have already had issues with. Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and allow the computer to reset itself. (That's probably what a call to the dealer will yield anyway). My gripe is with the motion detector. My Labrador Retriever rides with me and I can't even lock him in the car to run in the post office every morning. I have to leave the car disarmed to keep him from setting off the motion detector.
Good luck and let me know if you get any satisfaction from LoD

Alarms are electronic and you have a Lotus.
