Just wanted to say hi.  I just found this website tonight.  I don't own any of the cars displayed up in the site header there, but I hope one day to.  I've been living up around Lake Norman for the last 3+ years and had no idea there were any sort of car clubs up that way.  I've seen some really nice cars (A couple of Elises, a Lamborghini or two) and if you guys wouldn't mind a Nissan Z Car hanging around I'd love to tag along on some drives.

Which brings me to the whole reason I came looking for a place like this:  I posted over in the events thread about a driving event my Z Car Club is putting on. It's for Charity and we'd love to have cars of the caliber represented here attend and participate.

Anyway, a little bit about me.

Like I said, I moved to Cornelius after accepting my first job up here in 2005. I spent 2005 to October 2007 working on Grand American Daytona Prototypes over in Denver, NC.  Last October I left the racing industry for something on the opposite spectrum.  I now work on heavy trucks.  My 350Z is my first nearly new car.  I bought it used in 05.  Had 11,000 miles on it and it was a year old.  Here it is August 2008 and she's got 85,000 miles on her.  As you can tell, I love to drive my car.  There is nothing better for me than to spend a day tearing around up among the twisties.  I ran my first AutoX back in 2006 and won my class during my rookie season in 2007.  I'm hoping to start running track events with in the next year and to start doing SCCA Hill Climbs  after that.

I look forward to attending some of your events and meeting some of you guys.

One other thing....I'm a semi-pro photographer in my spare time.  I say semi-pro because I mostly give my services away for free for my car club.  Though I do get free room and registration for ZDayZ for each of the last 3 years.  But anyway.....here's some shots...

Took this at The Overlook on the Tail of the Dragon earlier this year.  I'd just had my wheels powdercoated.

This shot was also at The Overlook.....but was about a year previous.

After an impromptu shoot for Nissan North America, I managed to get my car in for a couple shots.

I got bored one night and took this in my old apartment complex after a nice rainstorm.

This shot is from VIR back in 06.

This was sitting next to the Carrera GT

Welcome! Lovely car and photos. We've had a couple 350's out with us in the past, great cars. Pity you didn't find the site a couple days earlier - you just missed the August event. Hopefully you can come along in September.

Thanks for the welcome, Talon.  I look forward to getting out on the road with you all at some point.  Really is too bad I missed the August event.  I'm sure it would have been a blast.

And if you're interested...I'd love to do a shoot for the group.

Thanks Burple. For the longest time I resisted black wheels.  I was of the opinion that wheels ought to be silver....and then one day I was looking at my car and decided that perhaps it wouldn't be so bad.  Then came the brake dust.  lol. Last year at ZDayZ I upgraded to a set of very aggressive track-type pads and then proceeded to run the remainder of the AutoX season with them.  Since I started running the AutoX's, I became somewhat less enthralled with washing my car (especially since I drive it every day and keeping it clean is about futile, not to mention finding new rock chips to piss me off every time I do wash it) and the brake dust from the pads ate their way into the paint.   So a few months ago I had the wheels media blasted and coated flat black to take care of the dust issue and for something a little different.

Overall I've been very happy with the change.  That's a nice Vette.  Great cars those are. Smiley

How's it going, Bob?
