Lots of Lotus folks go to this event. They usually get a big group to drive up from Florida too. It's a little way off but sometimes you need time to plan ahead. Anybody interested?

Sounds like fun. Is there a website with more info? I can add it to the official calendar and organize a convoy down if we get enough interest.

Here is a site.

http://www.hsrrace.com/HSR/HSRHome.nsf/weblinks/EJEN-7AFUMC?OpenDocument

and this is another one.

It really is a great event. They had the X-180 race cars out there before and a GT1. The car corrals have hundreds of cool cars. It is on the north side of the Atlanta area so it would be right around 3 hours drive from here. The Lotus people usually stay at the same hotel.

I go almost every year and recommend it highly.  I will attend this year.  You guys might also want to check out "British Car Day" at Chateau Elan which is just by Road Atlanta.  In fact it is owned by Panoz who owns the track.  It is usually one Saturday in the spring.  Lots and lots of British cars on the lawn of the Chateau.  Very inexpensive and low key.  Cars of all types ranging from show to daily drivers.  When I last went down there were a ton of Lotus (Loti?).

Check the Chateau Elan web site to find the date, or if anyone is interested contact me for more info.

Once we have a date, I'll add it to the global calendar.

I'm planning on heading over for at least part of the Mitty.  It runs from 4/30-5/4.  I'll probably head over either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

I was planning on going only on Saturday also. It means an early drive down and a late night back but that's ok. I would definately like to caravan down there so let me know how we can coordinate as we get closer to the date.

Update from the SE Lotus board;

It's Time for "The Mitty" at Road Atlanta
May 2 – 4, 2008

This year's Lotus corral will be new and improved from last year with
the addition of the cookout from Petit. Once again we will make Ron
slave over the grill preparing hot dogs and hamburgers for us to
enjoy. We will have a tent for shade and racing in the background.
There will be awards once again with a special guest judge. And if we
are lucky, the Hypersport Engineering Speed World Challenge Exige
debuting in Utah this coming May.

Tickets are available from sponsors R & R Construction and Lotus of
Atlanta. For $45, you will get a Super Weekend Pass with corral
parking, the club parade lap, gift bag of goodies, the chance to win an
award, Motorcars of Georgia water, and all the Sahlen hot dogs you can
eat (the unofficial hot dog of Grand Am). Please contact Becky Rivera
at becky@... to purchase your ticket(s). This is a group
package from Grassroots so please do not purchase on-line, we have done
it for you.
