It looks to me like we will have rain tonite and then there will be a window before the next round comes in later on Saturday. If we have enough of a window, things could be fine. They are calling for hail with the storms on Saturday so if they get here early then we might need a parking deck or garage to move to. Do you think we could go to Birkdale if necessary? They have some parking decks.

Yeah - that would work. They aren't expecting the serious stuff until later in the afternoon but, if we get caught out, Birkdale would be our contingency spot. On the plus side, there are a couple good watering holes near the parking decks Smiley  It also looks like the really heavy stuff will be a little further south of us,

Yo Russ

The S1 - she start and run fine!  Rain - it will be no problem - I am told  that it is the amphibious model that Roger Moore used.  Perhaps I will just  sail up to the dock at Midtown.

Hey Bob and welcome to the site. I think you will get the prize for having the the oldest Lotus in attendance. I can't wait to see it again. I know a couple people were asking if you were going to ge tthe old girl out of the garage.

I hate to do it, but I may have to pass on this meeting.  The 2 groves in my Yoko's aren't going to do very well in the rain and I have a long way to drive.  I'll check the weather tomorrow morning and come if I feel confident I can make it there and back without running into the storm.

It looks like as of now, there is only a 30% chance up til late afternoon and then 50% after that. Looks pretty good and getting better. If the trend continues we may not see anything until later in the evening if at all.

I'm also going to check the weather in the morning and play it by ear.

If we do go, I'll plan on passing through the rest stop in Clemmons at 10:15 instead of 10:30 in order to get there a little earlier.  The weather looks like it will arrive in the 3:00-5:00pm range so I'll plan to out run the storms and leave a little early.  I can get moving-map radar on my blackberry so I'll be prepared (I love gadgets).

Due to the weather and the head cold I have, I'm not going to bother to wash her...she looks good dirty anyway Smiley

OK - looks like we are going to get probably get wet, although the radar would seem to indicate that we will probably get a pop right around 11:00 then maybe a couple dry hours. The heavy stuff is still forecast for later on tonight. I guess our first meet will be done in typical British weather! Hopefully it won't keep to many folks away.

I had a blast! I was so nervous about the turnout this morning, but we completely blew away my expectations. Lotuschick and I had to pull over and wait out some rain as the Esprit was hydroplaning down the highway. No big deal, we just stopped at a pub for a drink. Just got home a couple minutes ago. I'll post pics later on in the gallery.

Some impressive hardware...

Oh yeah, and a Saab ;-)
