I figured I'd throw this thread out there to get some ideas for a May meet. I think a mountain drive would be fun since the weather in May is usually perfect for top down driving.
I am planning to go to CCR's 12 hr autocross on May 3rd is anyone is interested. The 12 hour event is a great one because you get essentially unlimited runs and usually the chance to swap drives with other people. Other than that my schedule is open for a mountain drive.

We'll be at Bike Week, May 10-17 and my 25th anniversary is May 21. I'll be free any other time.

Bob - PM me the link to the autocross and I'll throw it on the calendar. I'm up for a mountain drive - how about we shoot for the 17th (sorry burple!)? We've been doing a good job of getting together in the middle of the month and I also want to avoid Memorial weekend as I'm sure many people already have plans. I'm open to suggestions on where we go...

The 17th sounds good for me. There is a slight chance I might have to go to the UK for work that week, but hopefully I can work around it.

The only weekends I'm out are the 3rd-4th (I'm having a little event, I'll post in a bit) and the 17th of May (All-star race at Lowe's). Any other time and I'm good to go.

hmm - sounds like we may not have any luck with the 17th. How about doing it on the last weekend of the month, the 31st? It's either that or we try something over the Memorial Day weekend...

Okay. There has been some good activity on here so I decided to join yet another car forum. I'm always up for a run to Hanging Rock or the likes. There is a pretty good car show at Fire Mountain in Kernersville a couple of times during the summer. Anyone been to it? There is also a great turn out for the Grill 57 show in Garner NC during the weekends for those in the Triangle area. This Saturday is the first one.

Hola mirroredshades and welcome to the forum.
The cruise in at Fire Mountain in Kernersville is a once a month deal, from April until October. It happens on the 3rd Saturday of each month. We go sometimes. It's mostly hot rods, but when you show up with something new, you are the hit of the cruise in. If you join Triad Classic Car Club (sponsor of the event), you get one free meal at Fire Mountain per month. They also have 50/50 drawings and door prizes. All in all, it makes for a pretty good Saturday afternoon.
The Cruise in in High Point is everything Thursday evening. It's called "Let's Talk Cars". When the weather is nice, there will be 100 cars there. Again, mostly hot rods, but a nice sports cars is always a hit.
I think Fire Mountain is this weekend, if you don't go to The Gathering with us. Check it out.

There is another monthly event in Raleigh. Usually about 100-150 Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo etc show up. It's at 9AM on the first Saturday of each month in the parking lot near Camille's in the Brier Creek shopping center. I haven't been yet, but I've seen the pics and it looks impressive...
